Grove of Aspens trees in Utah, photo by Ryan Smith
Today I give thanks to this giant mass of rock and water that is our only home in the universe. Please remember to be kind to it.

5 Response to Happy Earth Day
Amen! I'm right there with you, Ryan - grateful for this beautiful and only planet of ours...
Beautiful photo!
Thanks Shalom!
Ryan,
Your two short sentences speak to two important truths: 1) Gratitude and 2) Earth is more than "the environment". She is, more specifically, "our home" and we need to be her steadfast stewards.
George, she is indeed our home. I often think of her as what Marshall McLuhan described as "spaceship earth." If you've ever enjoyed a sci-fi novel or movie this analogy makes great sense. All of us, and I mean all of Earth's inhabitants are flying through the universe together. We have to act like a crew and tend to our ship. It's the only one we have and our only chance of surviving the great unknown.
